Since the age of 6, Whylan Rucker has studied the art of dance through various styles, including, ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and musical theater. She attended Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School and was promoted to Captain of her Drill Team during her Sophomore year; she was also a 3- year Ozen Dance Company member. Outside of school, she attended The Beaumont Ballet Theatre (also known as Bonnie Cokinos School of Dance) and Taylor Dance Studio simultaneously, and amplified her dance training through various conventions and competitions, including Dance Masters of America,
It is common for talented artists to develop a passion for their art without understanding the purpose behind it. Whylan firmly believes that in order for an artist to truly reach their highest potential, they must align passion with purpose. It is the belief that once we know WHY we love to sing, dance, act, take pictures, design, etc., then we are able to dive deeper into our creativity and impactfully share it with the world. Visual and performing arts are the universal language of the world. Whylan’s purpose is to help dance artists, regardless of age or experience, tap into their passion and optimal level of expression by discovering the WHY behind the creative movement.
